If you have an Australian business and you have previously been unable to get the web domain that you want, now may be your chance with .au domains. .au domains were previously set aside for businesses who held the .com.au equivalent and those businesses were given a grace period to register the .au version.
However, since September 22 2022, the gates have been thrown open to all businesses with an ABN or ACN. So if the holder of the .com.au did not utilise the grace period, chances are that the .au is available.
For instance. Savemi has the domain savemi.com.au and we were able to secure savemi.au within the grace period. If we had not, savemi.au would now be available on the open market.
